British number one Andy Murray has withdrawn from a tennis competition after injuring a nerve in his bottom whilst he was sleeping.

The planet number three revealed that he has hurt his sciatic nerve in his right buttock overnight on the night of Monday 31 October. He woke the following morning incapable of walk properly, and a visit to the doctors confirmed that he had weakened a nerve.

He expects to have recovered in time to play in the Paris Masters and ATP World Finals, which both take place at the end of November.
